SUMMARY: The function of the Varatti Boats Assembly Manager is to direct all activities associated with the assembly of fiberglass towboats. Speed, efficiency, and management of standard work. Innovation and development of processes and tools for continuous improvement. This position assists the Operations Manager and works jointly with the Fabrication Manager by maintaining continuity across departments and shifts to meet production schedules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reinforce and promote all Floe Core Values
Direct activities in engines, rigging, electronics, interior, subassembly, compliance, test & freight
Team member training demonstrating team-orientated leadership
Maintain department goals and objectives as set by the Operations Manager
Develop and implement standard operating procedures
Maintain adherence to work instructions
Develop and monitor product quality standards
Develop, enforce & track quality control to meet objectives
Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
Comply with all plant safety and environmental measures
Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems
Maintain zero defect assembly
Determine and implement improvements to the production process
Prepare and maintain production reports
Monitor and review staff performance and improvement coaching
Estimate production costs and implement cost control programs as needed
Set and manage production budgets by workstation department
Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including Purchasing, Supply Chain and Management
Additional responsibilities to be assigned as needed
Job Requirements/Qualifications
Attention to detail and quality is required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Prior Production Management Required
Basic levels of mathematical, reading, writing, and communication skills are necessary to successfully accomplish the job description, skills, and ability requirements as outlined
Strong time management skills and basic measurement and gauge tools skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Required to sit, stand, kneel, twist, climb, lift 50lb, and work in confined spaces
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
